That time of year

Finally it has set in, and unlike the 22 years I spent in the Midwest I didn't even have to wait for cabin fever to hit. I've broken the clubs out, gone to the range a few times and dropped some money on a few upgrades.

Top Shelf

This is exactly what the title says - the top self of our book shelf. In our new apartment we have a shelf coming off of one of the walls where you can see through into the other side of the room. On the other side of that room is an area for a dinner table. This area also has a pot-light pointed at the wall which gives fantastic lighting for taking pictures, I have been experimenting quite a bit with it. But I have yet to take an in-depth look at what I've got by way of how the pictures turned out.

New-Old Reads

Does this shot of the book shelf make me look like a wanna-be hipster reader? I hope not, but I admit that I do own all of Chuck Palahniuk's novels (minus his latest, "Damned", waiting for that bad boy in trade-paperback). I am also currently collecting any Vonnegut I can find in the trade-paperback style put out by Delta Press.

Although the book shelf doesn't stop there, among others you can find my personal favorite "Travels with Charley" by Steinbeck, a small collection of the late-great David Foster Wallace, and a few classics such as Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and Huxley's Brave New World.
